Every watch starts with an obsession
I'm a designer who fell in love with watches - and couldn't find one that said what I wanted to say. So I made my own. Ember is what happens when design thinking meets horological passion. Small batch watches, built carefully and in limited numbers, for collectors who want something a bit different in their collection.
Based in Devon. Designed from scratch. Made in small batches for collectors who've already got the classics covered.
Ember isn't a catalogue brand. Every model starts as a sketch, goes through dozens of iterations- dial layout, case finishing, colour language - and only exists if it earns its place. We produce in small batches on purpose. Not to cut corners, but because that's what considered, quality-first watchmaking looks like. When a batch sells out, it's gone - and the next one won't arrive quickly.
This is just the beginning. Follow the process - from first sketches to finished watches.
Designed in England
Ember Watch Company is a microbrand based in the beautiful countryside of Devon, England.
Designed to be different
The Ember design ethos is to take a different approach to watch design - to explore what else is possible and forget conventions.
Designed with colours
Vibrant and expressive combinations of colours are a key part of our design ethos.
Rocket
Our first watch. Designed from scratch. Built to last.
The Rocket is where Ember begins - and its name says everything about the intention behind it. This isn't a cautious first step. It's a statement.
Five colourways. Each one considered.
Skyline Pink · Sunset Orange · Midnight Neon · Glacial White · Sky Blue
Every colourway was designed as a complete visual system - not just the dial colour, but the relationship between the dial, the rehaut, the hands, and the hardware. Choosing a Rocket means choosing a point of view.
The case — geometry with a purpose
40mm wide · 47mm lug to lug · 12mm thick
The dimensions were chosen to sit well on a wide range of wrists - but it's the geometry that makes the Rocket immediately recognisable. The large faceted lugs create a case that reads differently depending on the angle and the light. Sharp where it needs to be. Considered everywhere else.
The dial — negative space doing real work
The Rocket uses a sandwich dial construction, but not in the way you might expect. The cutouts in the top layer don't sit at the hour markers - they occupy the spaces between them, so the lumed bottom layer glows through the gaps rather than at the positions.
A flat sapphire crystal sits above - scratch-resistant, with clean optical clarity.
The movement — reliability over showmanship
Seiko NH38A · Automatic · 21,600vph · 41hrs power reserve · Hacking seconds
The NH38A is the no-date variant of Seiko's industry-proven NH35. It winds automatically, hacks for precise setting, and will keep accurate time without asking anything of you.
Water resistance - built for real life
Screw-down crown and caseback · 10ATM / 100m / 330ft
The Rocket is built to be worn - not kept in a box. The screw-down crown and caseback give it a water resistance rating that means you genuinely don't need to think about it, whatever you're doing.
