THE CASE

The Rocket's case is the first thing people notice - and it takes time to fully read. The large faceted lugs aren't decorative, they're structural to the design language: sharp angles, crisp edges, and a geometry that shifts as the light changes.

The finishing does the same work. A bead-blasted matte surface creates an industrial, contemporary base, while the polished bezel catches the light and adds contrast without compromise. Every surface transition was considered. None of them are accidental.

316L stainless steel. 40mm wide. 47mm lug to lug. 12mm thick — wears closer to the wrist than the numbers suggest.

THE DIAL

The dial is a sandwich construction - but not used in the conventional way. The cutouts don't mark the hour positions. They fill the spaces between them, so the negative space does the work of indicating the time. It's a small subversion that takes a moment to read, and then makes complete sense.

The bottom layer is generously lumed with BGW9 Superluminova — visible through the cutouts in daylight, and genuinely impressive in the dark. The deep rehaut surrounding the dial carries printed minute and second markers, keeping the dial itself uncluttered.

THE BRACELET

The bracelet isn't an afterthought. It continues the design language of the case around the wrist - same bead-blasted finish, same angular sensibility, designed to integrate rather than just attach.

The H-link construction articulates well on the wrist. The folding clasp has micro-adjustment built in. The screwed links allow precise sizing. Quick-release spring bars mean swapping to one of the included straps takes seconds, no tools required.

THE CASEBACK

Turn the Rocket over and there's a detail most people won't expect. The caseback carries a tessellating geometric pattern - and if you look closely, you'll find the Ember logo is the building block it's constructed from. Mirror-polished against the recessed text, it's the kind of detail that's easy to miss and hard to forget once you've seen it.

THE MOVEMENT

The Rocket runs on the NH38A — Seiko Instruments' no-date automatic movement, chosen deliberately. It's not the flashiest option, but it's one of the most reliable movements available at this price point, with a track record that's hard to argue with. Automatic winding, hacking seconds, 21,600vph, 41 hours of power reserve.

It will keep accurate time, every day, without you thinking about it. That's exactly what a movement should do.
